The origins of MG date back to 1923, when Cecil Kimber, general manager of Morris garages in Oxford, attached a stylish two-seater sporting body to a standard Morris chassis to create the first MG. In 1935, the company was incorporated into Morris, later to become part of BMC and British Leyland. The rest as they say... is history.
